Agricultural Chemical Container Recycling
In 2020, the Butte SWCD was awarded a grant provided by the Friends of the National Association of Conservation District (NACD) to build a recycling bin for empty agricultural chemical containers. Located at Valley Ag in Arco, the bin is free for the public to use and is open 24/7.

No-Till Drill Rental
The Butte SWCD has a 12' no-till drill for rent for District residents. The drill has the capacity for planting large grains, grass, and native flower seeds. Rates: $12/acre with a $100 day minimum. Technical assistance is provided to assist land users, communities, units of state and local government, tribes and other federal agencies in planning and implementing conservation systems to:

NRCS assistance to individuals is provided through conservation districts in accordance with a mutual agreement signed by the Secretary of Agriculture, Governor of Idaho, and each conservation district. Assistance is provided to land users voluntarily applying conservation and to those who much comply with local and State laws and regulations.
Land users may choose to use the new Technical Service Provider Program where they select someone within the private sector to provide assistance on conservation planning. Contact your local NRCS office for details.

Idaho Soil and Water Conservation Commission ProgramsCREP in Idaho is designed to address water shortages in the Eastern Snake River Plain, an area that extends from King Hill to Ashton.The Conservation Commission invites landowners to apply for low-interest loans to install conservation measures on private property. Eligible projects address soil and water issues, like improving riparian areas or enhancing fish and wildlife habitat.
